Job functions:
🚀An entry-level chemical engineer in biotech or pharma works on designing, optimizing, and scaling up processes used to manufacture drugs, vaccines, and biologics. They help transform lab-scale discoveries into full-scale production—safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Some key responsibilities include:
🔎Assist in scaling up lab-based drug or biologic production to commercial scale
🔎Design or optimize chemical and biological processes used in fermentation, purification, or formulation
🔎Support tech transfer between R&D and manufacturing teams
🔎Monitor process performance, troubleshoot issues, and propose improvements
🔎Ensure equipment design, utilities, and process parameters align with GMP and safety regulations
🔎Work on process validation, cleaning protocols, or automation controls
Document procedures and findings to support regulatory filings or inspections

Technical:  
- Process engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, mass balance, reaction kinetics)
- CAD/software tools like Aspen Plus, MATLAB, or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and validation requirements
