CAREER DEVELOPMENT TIPS
Master Your Day with Time Hacks!

It's true that STEM fields can be demanding, and effective time management is crucial for success. Here are three ways STEM professionals can manage their time effectively
Master the Art of Prioritization:
Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize tasks by urgency and importance.
- Do: Urgent and important tasks; your top priorities
- Decide: Important but not urgent tasks; schedule time for these
- Delegate: Urgent, but not important. Can someone else do it?
- Delete: Not urgent and not important - time wasters
Time Blocking and Scheduling
- Allocate Specific Time Slots: block out specific time to work on tasks
- Batch Similar Tasks: group tasks (answering email, data analysis, etc.) tasks together to minimize context switching and improve efficiency
Leverage Technology and Tools
- Calendar Apps: use digital calendars to schedule appointments, set reminders, and manage time
- Note-taking Apps: to capture ideas, organize information, and keep track of tasks
